Top of Killington
6:37pm: Ostler just finished for Team SLU Alumni. Derek is about 2 VERY steep miles back, and, now (638) John Hall jas just handed off for the SLUTS. Derek will be FINISHED, literally and literally, when he's done. Fish is already done.
Finally the sun is setting and it is cooling off, but the damage has been done. The whole race is about an hour off pace, which may end up being an issue at later transitions (though they did move a bunch of teams ahead to address this - and save them some of the high heat hours. Now, the bugs are coming out... But we are one ski mountain from being done.

thru 6 legs
I is hurt. It is hot. Handed off to Fish (Leg#7) about 1:28 pm at the horsefarm in Warren. He is dropping tha hammer. Must be all that high noon training he did...
hot' hot' hot!
1 leg done for DP and my shoes nearly melted. Rolled down a hill at the start at 5:50's and crawled up some hot hills in the middle. Looking forward to the evening run and cooler temps.
and we're off...
Fish led off and handed off in 3rd (behind Will and T-Lud) and Derek is hammering thru #2 right now. No clouds in VT; it is gonna be HOT today.
